A frequent problem with front load washing machines is a pungent odor coming from the unit. This problem is due to a bacterial buildup cause by a lack of proper sanitation. Preventive measures such as weekly use of sanitizing tablets, which can be purchased at the local appliance store, as well as leaving the door open after each use to allow proper air ventilation.
